The Artistic World of Sabine Cibert: when Abstract Art plays a Sensitive Chord
Sabine Cibert has developed a body of contemporary textile works that taps into architecture, landscapes and geometry. She draws on her experience as a former architect and city planner, to transpose the rigid structure of buildings to the softer texture of fabric, thus creating what she calls “textile scores”.
She works in a spirit of “mindful time-taking”. Each work emerges further to a time-intensive process, involving hundreds of hours of manual labour, transforming the fabric into a vibrant surface that invites interaction with its surroundings.
