The Cité internationale de la tapisserie in Aubusson will host Jean Lurçat’s monumental cycle *Le Chant du Monde* (The Song of the World) (1957–1966), a work held for nearly sixty years by the Musée Jean-Lurçat et de la Tapisserie contemporaine in Angers.

A true artistic testament by Jean Lurçat, *Le Chant du Monde* is both a universal fresco and a hymn to life.

As part of this exceptional exhibition, artist Sabine Cibert will display the work *Aube 281* in the Cité’s “Nef des Tentures” (Tapestry Nave); her own textile practice traces its origins to a visit she made to see Lurçat’s *Le Chant du Monde* at the Château d’Annecy in 1963.

The Song of Dawn

As part of this exceptional exhibition, artist Sabine Cibert will exhibit the work Aube 281 in the Nef des Tentures de la Cité, as the starting point of her textile practice was her visit to Lurçat’s Le Chant du Monde at the Château d’Annecy in 1963.
