Technique: Hand-assembled, hand-quilted textiles. 1802 pieces

Description: New, repeating ideas and texture effects based on a mosaic motif from the Alhambra palace, Grenada. Welling up from the depths of the earth, a force cracking the earth’s crust, a volcano. The quilting follows the contours of each fragment making up the mosaic’s geometric base, apart from the marble-print fabric, which has not been quilted.
