Technique: Hand-stitched, then hand-quilted as three layers, including one that’s back-to-front, and one silk core.
1,063 fabric squares of five different sizes.

Description: Throb 1 and Throb 2 are made up of some 60 shades of red, painstakingly collected over the past 20 years.

Inspired by the colourful pace set by Aurélie Nemours as well as Joannes Itten’s research into the optical effects of coloured squares. The inclusion of a handful of green squares sets a beat to the work as a whole.
